2026 Golden Gate STEM Fair
at the Randall Museum

The 2026 Golden Gate STEM Fair at the Randall Museum merges two San Francisco Bay Area Science Fair mainstays: the Annual San Francisco Middle School Science Fair which has been held at San Francisco’s Randall Museum for the past 40 years, and the Golden Gate STEM Fair which traces its roots to the founding in 1952 of the California Science Fair System.

The 2026 STEM Fair, which will take place on March 8th (upper division) and March 22nd (lower division) will showcase science research completed by San Francisco and Bay Area students grades 6-12. More than 200 students from 25 schools will be participating. Our high placing high school level students will have the opportunity to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix in May.

The Golden Gate STEM Fair at the Randall Museum aims to support the development of young people’s interest in STEM fields and increase their science research skills. The Fair combines traditional science fair competition with additional support and enrichment. Participating students have the opportunity to present to and dialogue with judges. In addition to traditional awards, STEM-focused community organizations, education institutions and local corporations will recognize a broader grouping of budding scientists with certificates and follow up field experiences.

Join us in building our next generation of scientists working to create a better world.
