Riding the Rails
Come visit Riding the Rails, an interactive railroad-themed exhibit exploring how trains helped to shape the industrial world. Children can climb aboard a scale model of a caboose and imagine what it was like to be riding the rails on an old time train. There is also an urban rail exhibit with models of San Francisco landmark buildings and miniature trains that can be guided on model railroad tracks. While visiting the exhibit, explore a relief passenger car with interactive panels about the Transcontinental Railway. Riding the Rails is on display in the lobby entrance of the Golden Gate Model Railroad.
