Important COVID-19 Information

by | Mar 11, 2020 | Blog, Director's Update

Dear Randall Community,

As the world addresses the issues around the Coronavirus, we wanted to take the opportunity to inform you that the Randall Museum is open for you and your family during our regularly scheduled hours, and we are focused on the safety of our visitors and staff.

All classes planned throughout March are proceeding as scheduled. In an abundance of caution, and in concert with new recommendations from San Francisco’s Department of Public Health to cancel non-essential group events to facilitate social distancing, we are cancelling our Members-Only Sunday that was scheduled for March 29th. We will reschedule it at a future date.

With regard to events and classes:

  • All March classes are on as scheduled
  • Playing with Art Drop-In for Friday 13th is cancelled
  • Animal Art Classes for Saturday 14th
  • SF Amateur Astronomers lecture March 18 is postponed
  • Mycological Society meeting March 17 is cancelled
  • Members-Only Sunday March 29 is cancelled
  • We will assess the situation daily and update as often as necessary.

Please know that we are exercising these precautions for everyone’s safety and following the direction of the Recreation & Park Department.

As other changes occur, we will make updates to the calendar page on our website.

Guided by the SF Recreation & Park Department, we are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and will follow the directives of trusted public health sources including San Francisco’s Department of Public Health.

We sanitize our public spaces and all frequently touched surfaces on an ongoing basis. You can help by following the health guidelines from SFDPH and be mindful that if you or anyone in your household is feeling sick, please postpone a visit to the Randall Museum until a future time.

For more information, please see the Mayor’s office guidelines and Rec & Park Coronavirus Impact.

We will continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis and will keep you informed of any changes. Wishing all of us good health.
